Myanmar Ban Right Hand Drive Used Vehicles in 2017

Myanmar has passed a ban on used vehicles with Right Hand Drive as of 1st of January 2017.

According to Myanmar Ministry of Commerce of the 800,000 registered vehicles in Myanmar, 600,000 are Right Hand Drive used vehicles.

In 2013 there were less than 100,000 vehicles registered in Myanmar.
As the country opened its market all global manufacturers have opened new vehicles showroom in the country.

To protect foreign investment, the country is closing its doors to used vehicles import which are 90% used Toyota from Japan.

This will definitely profit to Toyota dealers as 90% of used vehicles from Japan to Myanmar were Toyota vehicles.

Myanmar is a Right Hand Drive market.
